Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and
- oriented Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations of Portuguese subsidiaries. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting aligned with both Portuguese GAAP and Spanish PGC The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting expertise, a deep understanding of Portuguese tax regulations, and the ability to communicate effectively with the Group Finance team in Spain.

Key Responsibilities

• Monthly Accounting Closings & Adjustments: Ensure proper recognition of accruals, provisions for expenses and revenues.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to the Spanish parent company. Analyse and explain variances vs. budget and forecast, and KPIs analysis.
• PL, BS and CF analysis.
• Support consolidation processes and intercompany reconciliations.
• Compliance & Tax Oversight: Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and statutory requirements.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors in Portugal.
• Process Improvement & Controls: Identify and implement improvements in financial processes and internal controls.
• Support ERP and reporting system enhancements.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial controlling or audit, ideally in multinational environments.
• Strong knowledge of Portuguese GAAP, PGC, and IFRS.
• Familiarity with Portuguese tax and legal requirements.
• Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
