One of our clients, a global leader in in vitro diagnostics, is expanding its footprint in Portugal and is seeking a Country Manager to join their affiliate office. Known for their

Responsibilities
- Budget Management
- Propose a yearly budget (investments, workforce, operations) for the country based on market trends and opportunities.
- Support a consistent implementation of the company initiatives in the country.
- Implement and follow up on the budget of the country after validation.
- Be accountable for profit and loss of the country and the achievement of sales.
- Prepare business plans, forecast, and market share analysis to upper management.
- Provide a regularly clear forecast about the country’s results to the Management.
- Understand, analyse, and accurately interpret key financial performance indicators.
- Monitor market trends and implement the sales strategy in the country
- Responsible for driving profitable revenue growth, including setting revenue and profit growth targets.
- Develop and sell unique and tailored solutions that create additional value for customers.
- Develop a deep understanding of account needs, identify new business opportunities, stakeholders, and competitive situation, and share this information with Regional Management to evaluate strategy relevance.
- Develop business plans for achieving goals, including sales and margin.
- Identify new business opportunities.
- Develop the company image in the market (customers, key opinion leaders).
- Propose commercial policy evolutions to fit market expectations.
- Act as sales lead in the assigned territory or for assigned customers.
- Assess local market needs with team members.
- Investigate and understand customers and their business environment, including goals, objectives, strategies, and opportunities.
- Maintain a detailed understanding of customer decision makers and influencers; build and preserve relationships to drive new sales and protect base business.
- Ensure compliance & respect of procedures and processes
- Ensure the respect and implementation of Group values, policies and processes at local level.
- Assure all processes are in conformity with certification requirements.
- Guarantee compliance with local authorities’ expectations and laws (regulation, labor law).
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
- Ensure the protection of personal data and confidentiality.
- Alert the Legal/DPO department in case of discrepancy or risks.
- Manage his/her team
- Planning: define priorities and achievements expected for the team members.
- Management of people: set up clear and motivating expectations and achievement targets; provide timely and objective feedback and incentives; encourage skill development for today’s and tomorrow’s business.
- Train and define training needs for the team.
- Recruit, onboard, and integrate new team members.
- Assess performance and take necessary actions to achieve results.
Qualifications
- 10 years of relevant experience in commercial management, preferably within the diagnostics or healthcare industry.
- Proven experience in team leadership, coaching, and development.
- Strong commercial background with experience in sales strategy, P&L accountability, and business planning.
- Excellent command of Portuguese and English (both written and spoken).
- Willingness and ability to travel within the country as required.
- Strong understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, customers, and opinion leaders.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, compliance, and quality systems is a plus.
