Overview

Customer Order Handler - 1 year contract. Join HBK - Hottinger Brüel & Kjær as part of the Global Order Management team to support order processing and shipping for HBK, ensuring
- time delivery and
- quality support for internal customers. Coordinate with Sales, Operations/Supply Chain, Export Control, Customer Care and Finance to meet customer and regulatory requirements. Based in Porto, Portugal, or remotely from Portugal with collaboration across the UK, US, Germany, Portugal and Asia.

Primary Responsibilities

• Order management (entry and processing) in accordance with targets for delivery compliance.
• Follow-up on global order backlog.
• Prepare and follow up on credit control and prepayments.
• Prepare export and import declarations and documents (including labeling, customs clearance, HS codes, certificates and handling of dangerous goods).
• Booking and handling of shipments; primarily courier and air freight via portals.
• Invoicing of orders.
• Manual data transfer in ERP systems.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external partners (Authorities, Freight Forwarders, Suppliers).
• Contribute to continuous process improvements through workshops and team projects.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with order processing, shipping or logistics preferred.
• Experience in a customer service environment with tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience in Microsoft Office, Oracle or SAP ERP.
• Fluent in English.
• LEAN and continuous improvements experience is an advantage.
