CYBERSECURITY ARCHITECT (NATO) – Position based in Brussels (Belgium)

The role supports the development of robust security frameworks for the NATO C2 air and missile defense platform, protecting against evolving threats while enabling interoperability. This role is open to experts from cybersecurity in critical infrastructure, financial services security, healthcare data protection, or government IT security, bringing transferable skills in risk management and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Junior Level: Support vulnerability assessments, basic security design, and implementation using tools like Nessus or Open
  VAS; document security architectures, policies, and controls; participate in compliance audits and threat modeling; contribute to security requirements gathering and integration planning.
• Mid‑Level: Design secure architectures with zero‑trust models, encryption, and access controls; conduct detailed threat modeling and risk assessments; implement and configure security tools for monitoring; collaborate on security testing; lead architecture reviews and facilitate security reviews with NATO partners.
• Senior Level: Lead comprehensive security strategy for multinational platforms, ensuring alignment with NIST 800‑53, NATO and Do
  D guidelines; oversee penetration testing, incident response, and security governance; integrate IAM, encryption, endpoint security; mentor teams; drive AI‑driven threat detection and compliance auditing.

Mandatory Skills and Experience:

• Valid national or NATO Secret personal security clearance (active clearance preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or equivalent; NATO nationality required.
• Junior: 3 years of cybersecurity or IT security roles; Comp
  TIA Security+ or equivalent.
• Mid: 5 years in defense or enterprise security; CISSP or CISM.
• Senior: 7+ years; CCSP or advanced CISSP; Master’s degree in Cybersecurity.

Desirable Skills and Experience (All Levels): Background in financial or healthcare security; GIAC Security Essentials, OSCP or similar; experience with Splunk, Qualys; knowledge of blockchain or quantum‑resistant security; proficiency in French or German for NATO collaboration.

The work is conducted in English.
