We are seeking a highly experienced Solution Architect specializing in Data, Analytics, and AI to lead the design of enterprise‑grade data platforms and AI‑driven solutions. In this role, you will translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and high‑performance data architectures, ensuring full alignment with governance, observability, and strategic transformation goals.

Key Deliverables

• Model business requirements into appropriate data models — normalized, denormalized, star schema, or others — based on project objectives.
• Design
  - tabular data models (columnar, graph, geographic, time series, document).
• Define data streams and API integrations (schema and CRUD APIs).
• Architect and optimize data models to meet qualitative requirements such as cost, performance (indexed and analytical queries), and elasticity (scale up/out, pause).
• Design and implement reference data architectures aligned with the organization’s data management strategy.
• Build blueprints for enterprise data frameworks, defining how data is collected, stored, integrated, and managed across Data Lakes, MDUs, and Data Marts.
• Define Data
  Ops observability indicators covering:
  • Operational health (pipeline duration, delays, retries, frequency)
  • Dataset-level health (availability, freshness, volume, schema evolution)
  • Data-level health (profiling, anomalies, drift, rule enforcement)
• Ensure scalability, security, reliability, performance, and disaster recovery.
• Apply best practices in data governance and data security (data catalog, lineage, quality, MDM, metadata management, and data standards).
• Produce Solution Design documentation in Confluence.
• Perform
  - functional analysis and drive improvements on the Celonis platform.
• Participate in the design of the client’s Data & AI Big Bets program, from requirements gathering to solution design and implementation analysis.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to resolve bottlenecks and ensure adherence to best practices.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 15+ years of professional experience in relevant roles.
• Proven expertise in data, analytics, and AI solution architecture (focus on design, not development).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (C1+).
• In-depth knowledge of databases and analytical technologies, including data lake/lakehouse architectures and No
  SQL systems.
• Experience with at least one cloud platform (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
• Proficiency in Big Data technologies (Big
  Query, Azure Synapse, Redshift, Cassandra, Couchbase, HDFS).
• Expertise in data governance, data security, and metadata management.
• Understanding of machine learning algorithms and statistical models (classification, regression, time series).
• Experience in Celonis (certification and implementation background required).
• Familiarity with GDPR and Energy & Utilities domain.
• Availability for 2–3 days per week
  - site in Lisbon.
• Based in Portugal (local resource).

Nice to Have

• Additional languages: Portuguese, Spanish.
• Experience in strategic projects or within the Utilities/Retail sector.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, JIRA, and Confluence.
• Experience with SAP and/or Salesforce applications.
