Data Center Fabric Senior Engineer
Job Description
The Nokia Data Center Fabric (DCF) is a modern solution built on the IXR series hardware and the SR Linux Network Operating System. It enables rapid deployment, full automation, and scalable operations in data center networks.
As a Data Center Fabric Senior Engineer, you’ll work in the EDA project portfolio to support deployment and operations of Nokia’s DCF solutions, including 3 rd party products where required — acting as a
- functional expert with strong architectural understanding and deep
- on support capability.
You will collaborate closely with customers, architects, integration teams, and R&D to both shape and support robust, scalable data center designs. This role combines
- level design engagement with
- on troubleshooting and deployment validation — ideal for engineers who thrive at the intersection of design, delivery, and support.
How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn
- Act as a technical lead for
- facing DCF engagements, combining architecture knowledge with advanced technical troubleshooting. - Participate in
- and
- level design creation, reviews, and validation for customer deployments. - Provide guidance on Nokia's validated Data Center Fabric design best practices and solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex
- level issues in
- vendor,
- domain environments. - Reproduce customer issues in a lab setting, validate fixes, and manage escalations with R&D.
- Support the full
- cycle of Data Center Fabric deployments — from integration, staging, and testing, through to
- deployment operations. - Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Product Line Management, Care, and Pre-sales to ensure successful solution adoption and satisfaction.
- Maintain ongoing customer interaction to provide updates, guidance, and maintain alignment with SLAs.
- 7+ years of experience in IP networking, with a strong focus on data center fabric solutions and routing technologies.
- Deep knowledge of L2/L3 protocols, including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, EVPN, VXLAN, MPLS, and related technologies.
- Familiarity with Data Center design principles (leaf-spine, Clos fabrics,
- based networking). - Strong troubleshooting experience with
- world deployment issues (system-level, underlay/overlay,
- vendor). - Experience with automation and management platforms (YANG, REST, g
NMI, Ansible, Python, API, YAML). - Experienced with public cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS and Azure
- Working knowledge of
- native technologies: Kubernetes, Docker, Open
Shift, VMware, Openstack, container networking. - Hands-on experience with Nokia SR Linux and SROS Nokia routers highly preferred.
- Familiarity with lab environments and the ability to replicate customer scenarios for issue isolation.
- Excellent communication and customer interaction skills, with experience supporting or consulting external clients.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Certifications such as Nokia Data Center Fabric Professional, NRS I/II, Cisco CCIE/CCNP, or equivalent are assets.
