We're hiring an experienced

Data Cloud Platform Architect

to join our team in Porto. You'll design, implement, and maintain scalable data solutions on AWS, enforce data governance and security standards, and provide technical leadership for complex cloud data projects. You'll collaborate with
- functional teams to optimize data pipelines, ETL processes, and orchestration workflows, while setting coding standards and mentoring your team.

What do you need to be a SMART Data Cloud Platform Architect?

• 10+ years of experience in cloud data platforms, with deep expertise in AWS data services (Lambda, Glue, Step Functions, Redshift)
• Exposure to Azure data services, preferably including Databricks
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL for prototyping and setting coding standards
• Experience managing large datasets, including Iceberg tables
• Proven track record leading
  - scale cloud data projects, migrations, and optimizations
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Cloud
  Formation)
• Demonstrated ability to define and enforce data governance and security standards
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow and AWS Step Functions
• Knowledge of ETL tools and experience with
  - volume data pipelines (Kafka experience is a plus)
• Hands-on experience in designing scalable, performant, secure, and
  - efficient data solutions
• Strong analytical,
  - solving, and production troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to provide technical leadership and mentorship
• Familiarity with logging and tracing in AWS (Cloud
  Trail, X-Ray)
• Fluent in English

What will your role at SMART be?

• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud data solutions on AWS
• Apply
  - on coding skills in Python and SQL to prototype solutions and set coding standards
• Manage ETL processes and integrate data into Redshift, Duck
  DB, and Postgre
  SQL
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Cloud
  Formation) for cloud environments
• Optimize data solutions for scalability, performance, security, and cost
• Oversee orchestration workflows using Apache Airflow and AWS Step Functions
• Implement logging, monitoring, and tracing solutions for production awareness
• Enforce data governance and security standards across cloud platforms
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to your team
• Write comprehensive solution and technical documentation
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends
• Challenge business requirements and propose innovative solutions for efficiency and performance

Nice to Have

• Experience with Azure platform technologies and Databricks for data engineering and analytics
• Hands-on experience with Kafka for
  - volume data integration
• Prior experience in European corporate environments
