At DSV, we are on a journey to renew the Global Data and Analytics Platform used across departments, customers, and partners to maximize data insights.

Our team is distributed across Europe, Asia, and South Africa, with a significant presence in Lisbon, where development and operations teams are based.

We are seeking a Data Engineer for the Data Foundation Team, supporting a team of three members plus the manager. This role involves collaboration across global locations within the department.

The work is
- based, utilizing Microsoft Azure services including Data Lake, SQL Server, Synapse, Data
Bricks, Power
BI, Data Factory, and Azure Dev
Ops, with a strategic move towards
- cloud solutions.

The team leads technological initiatives, supporting delivery and operations with tools, frameworks, and coaching, operating in an agile environment managed via Jira.

Major responsibilities include:

• Managing and optimizing
  - departmental tools.
• Participating in
  - data foundation implementation projects.
• Analyzing and optimizing existing applications.
• Designing and implementing solutions for the Operational Data Warehouse (ODW) aligned with architectural standards.
• Understanding existing architecture and business processes.
• Developing and maintaining scalable data pipelines for large data volumes.
• Collaborating with various department teams to gather requirements.
• Documenting technical specifications.
• Enhancing agile delivery frameworks to ensure
  - quality, flexible deliverables.
• Transferring knowledge within the team and support staff.

Skills & Competencies:

• Analytical Skills: Systematic problem analysis.
• Delivery & Project Management: Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Communication Skills: Effective in international business contexts.
• Personal Skills: Cross-cultural teamwork, accountability, and relationship building.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in relevant fields.
• 3-5 years in BI/Data Engineering projects.

Technical Requirements:

• Expertise in Microsoft Azure Data stack.
• Proficiency in monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing data pipelines.
• Experience with query profiling and tuning.
• Familiarity with GIT, Agile, CI/CD, Databricks, Pyspark/Scala/Spark SQL, and data governance principles.

Languages:

• Proficient in English (spoken and written).
