As a Data Engineer, you will join our BI team to design and maintain
- based data pipelines using SQL, dbt, Python, Snowflake, Git
Lab, and Dagster. You will work on an Analytical Data Product within a Data Mesh framework, with full ownership and direct business impact. This role involves applying an analytical mindset to understand business needs, working independently, managing risks, providing technical feedback, and ensuring pipelines are reliable, scalable, and of the highest quality.
How you create impact
- Designs, develops, tests, and maintains scalable data transformation pipelines.
- Collaborates with BI developers, analysts, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions, implementing transformations based on business rules.
- Develops and implements data models optimized for BI, ensuring accuracy and performance.
- Champions and contributes to automated data documentation and cataloguing, utilizing version control (Git
Lab) and contributing to CI/CD processes. - Implements and monitors data orchestration workflows (Dagster) and data quality checks.
- Optimizes query performance and data pipeline efficiency.
- Assists senior roles in mentoring junior team members, contributes to the company's Data Mesh architecture, and applies Agile methodologies.
What we would like you to bring
- Bachelor’s degree in IT (or equivalent experience) with 2 - 5+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a similar role.
- Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries and data modelling for data warehouses and BI.
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT processes and tools; dbt experience is a strong plus.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python preferred, including data manipulation and automation) and experience with cloud data warehouses (ideally Snowflake).
- Familiar with version control systems (Git/Git
Lab) and Agile development practices. - Experience applying data quality rules, setting up monitoring alerts, utilizing orchestration tools, and translating business requirements into technical solutions; knowledge of Mac
OS/WSL is a plus. - Strong analytical,
- solving, and communication skills in English, with the ability to manage risks and drive personal growth. - Experience migrating data pipelines from legacy systems is an advantage.
