Join us in our mission to achieve Net Zero emissions! As a Data Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ISS’s sustainability transformation by designing and implementing
- level data solutions that manage critical datasets driving carbon footprint reduction. Your experience in architecting scalable data platforms, building robust ETL processes, and ensuring data quality will be essential to help us track, measure, and meet our ambitious environmental targets—while empowering over 350, 000 placemakers worldwide to deliver more sustainably.
We’re looking for someone with a previous experience on data architecture and solution design, who can translate complex sustainability requirements into reliable,

Your Day-to-Day Journey at ISS Tech Portugal:
Data Engineering scope under Sustainability Project:
- Monitor and maintain existing data pipelines in Microsoft Fabric.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy during the entire data pipeline lifecycle;
- Translate sustainability business requirements into technical specifications.
- Support Management team to plan and prioritize upcoming development and framework evolution tasks.
- Support and transform legacy components to fit a scalable,

- play architecture.
Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with Integration, RPA and data teams to optimise data workflows.
- Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline failures or data quality issues, from the current Data Pipelines
- Perform light support tasks, documenting and training internal team members;
Professional Development:
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills in data operations.
- Work towards understanding and managing data pipelines and workflow.
Who you’ll work with:
- Collaboration with all internal and external IT & business stakeholders both, at regional and
- level but also at global scale - Sustainability Project Team (Data Loader, Business Analysts, Project Managers)
- Co-ordinating and aligning across functional teams to ensure solution & data set up, configured and working as required.

- You have a vision for scalable data platforms and can translate that into actionable technical deliverables that evolve with business needs.
- You’re proactive in identifying architectural improvements that enhance performance, maintainability, and extensibility of the data ecosystem.
- Good
- solving abilities. - Document and communicate technical deliverables in a way that’s accessible to both technical and
- technical audiences. - Strong communication skills in English.
Nice to have skills:
- Experience with data analysis tools (e. g. , Excel, SQL, Python).
- Basic knowledge of data governance and compliance standards.
- Familiar with sustainability frameworks and standards;
