Data Engineer

Location: Lisbon, Portugal

Languages: English (B2-C1) - french is a plus

Work model: 4 days in the office

Recruitment Process:

• Initial Interview (~40 minutes)
• Two
  - depth interview sessions (~3 hours each)

Eligibility: Currently living in Portugal and be legally authorized to work there

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join a client in the financial services industry.

You will be part of an Agile Scrum team, working on
- native data pipelines and solutions to support critical business objectives.

Your Profile

• Degree in Engineering or related discipline
• Proven experience building data pipelines and managing data on AWS (S3, ECS, Lambda, RDS, SNS/SQS, IAM, Cloud
  Watch)
• Strong skills in SQL, including complex queries and analytical database programming
• Proficient in Python and data libraries such as Pandas and Boto3
• Solid understanding of data platform architecture, governance, and metadata management
• Experience with Snowflake development is a plus
• Familiarity with CI/CD, orchestration tools (Step Function, Airflow, Prefect), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Cloud
  Formation) is valued
• Knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau is an advantage
• AWS and Snowflake certifications are preferred

• Fluent in English (French is a plus)

What You Will Be Doing

• Develop and maintain
  - native data pipelines handling batch and streaming data
• Architect
  - performance data solutions supporting business and analytics needs
• Manage large and complex datasets, ensuring quality through functional and
  - functional testing
• Design and optimize data models and queries for performance and scalability
• Collaborate with
  - functional teams, supporting production, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement
• Ensure data governance through metadata cataloguing and compliance
