Key Responsibilities
- Integrate new data sources, ensuring data consistency, reliability, and efficiency—like making sure all your ducks (or bytes) are in a row.
- Develop and optimize databases and data warehouses for top performance and reliability—because nobody likes a sluggish database.
- Create and manage ETL processes to move and transform data effectively—consider yourself the ultimate data mixologist.
- Implement robust data quality checks to ensure data integrity throughout its lifecycle—keeping those data gremlins at bay.
- Optimize data systems and pipelines for peak performance and scalability—because who doesn’t want their data to run like a
- oiled machine? - Document data processes, architectures, and pipelines comprehensively—so future you doesn’t have to play detective.
- Ensure all data practices comply with relevant privacy and security regulations—keeping everything above board and out of trouble.
- Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions—be the data whisperer everyone loves.
Minimum Requirements
- Hold a BSc, MSc, or Ph
D in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or Systems Engineering. - 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience with data pipelines design and orchestration, ideally with
- series data. - Proficiency in programming languages, mainly Python and SQL. Experience with OOP, Unix, and Git is essential.
- Experience specifically with My
SQL, Postgre
SQL, and Timescale
DB. - Experience managing and manipulating relational databases; knowledge of
- relational databases is a plus. - Basic knowledge of Docker is expected.
- Experience with APIs.
- Strong knowledge of ETL processes and data warehousing.
- Understanding of big data frameworks and tools is a plus.
- Excellent
- solving and analytical skills. - Strong communication and presentation abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to data quality.
