As part of Vestas Technology & Operations, the Modelling & Analytics, Plant Data team is responsible for creating and managing products and services related to Vestas Plant Data Offerings. Our diverse team of Data Engineers focuses on designing products that facilitate data collection, processing, and storage from thousands of power plants worldwide. The team also supports data storage and conducts analytics on a hybrid data platform supporting multiple applications for our customers.
Our mission is to reduce the cost of energy by harnessing the extensive data collected and stored by Vestas from power plants globally. Join us to make a meaningful impact on renewable energy's future.
Responsibilities
- Engage
- on with the data engineering team and collaborate with architects and stakeholders (PM, PO, etc. ) - Perform impact analysis of complex data flows involving multiple source systems
- Contribute to designing and delivering migration of data products from legacy systems to cloud setups
- Mentor data engineers and facilitate key POCs
- Participate in code and design reviews
- Manage operational data products (Level 3 Support)
- Work with architects, SMEs, and stakeholders to identify data products and workloads in legacy warehouses
- Co-own product architecture and drive strategic roadmap for plant data warehouse
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields
- +6 years of experience in
- premises and cloud data warehousing - Strong command of advanced SQL, ELT design patterns, and performance optimization
Experience in designing, building, and maintaining data products within hybrid environments is essential.
Preferred additional qualifications include:
- Experience migrating data workloads from
- premises to cloud ETL and Data Warehouse - Experience with Azure services and Snowflake
- Knowledge of DBT, data modeling in cloud data warehouses, and data structures
- Experience with SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, and familiarity with agile and Dev
Ops practices - Experience with data mesh implementation, Python, Py
Spark, Databricks is advantageous
