What will be your role

We are looking for a skilled Data Governance Specialist to lead the development and implementation of data governance strategies for a key client in the banking sector. This professional will be instrumental in structuring governance practices, establishing policies, and applyingtools to support the growing maturity of the organization’s data ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

• At least 3 years of experience working in data
• Define and implement data governance policies, standards, and frameworks.
• Establish and maintain a business data dictionary and metadata catalog.
• Recommend and apply data governance tools, with a focus on security, quality, and compliance.
• Collaborate with data, IT, and business teams to promote governance best practices across the organization.
• Guide the operationalization of governance strategies, ensuring practical applicability and stakeholder alignment.
• Support data organization initiatives and help improve the overall efficiency and reliability of the data landscape.

What should you bring to the team?

• Proven experience defining and deploying data governance frameworks in complex organizations.
• Strong understanding of data dictionaries, data security, and cataloging tools.
• Familiarity with data governance platforms and concepts such as metadata management, lineage, and stewardship.
• Experience working in regulated sectors, especially banking or financial services.
• Solid communication skills and the ability to translate governance needs into practical and actionable processes.
• Hands-on knowledge of Azure and tools like Databricks is highly valued.
• Ability to lead and influence
  - functional teams to adopt governance principles.
• Comfortable working in Agile environments, with excellent organizational and communication skills for both technical and
  - technical audiences.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English (written and spoken).
• Availability to work in a hybrid model (3 days a week) at clients' offices in Lisbon;
• The capacity to listen & influence people and foster change in a collaborative way;
