Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Engineer

What you will do
We are searching for a Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Engineerwith a strong engineering focus to support and enhance our Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) platforms. This role is part of the Data Security team and reports to the Manager of Global Data Security.
This position emphasizes engineering excellence in designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining critical data protection infrastructure across Amgen’s global enterprise.
Areas of responsibility include:
- Design, build, and deploydata security systems and infrastructure to support DLP and DSPM across
- premises, hybrid, and
- cloud environments.
- Partner with architecture and platform teams to integrate security controls natively into cloud and
- prem environments (e. g. , AWS, Azure, O365, Box, Salesforce).
- Monitor and maintain DLP and DSPM services to ensure system reliability, performance, and integrity.
- Lead service reliability efforts by identifying and eliminating operational bottlenecks and engineering improvements that increase service availability and fault tolerance.
- Provide engineering support for incident response, helping contain and remediate events by building and enhancing tooling for rapid investigation.
- Participate in solution architecture and Dev

Ops initiatives to embed security early in the infrastructure development lifecycle.
- Develop and maintaintechnical documentation and implementation guides for infrastructure components and security solutions.
- Design, build, and deploydata security systems and infrastructure to support DLP and DSPM across

What we expect of you
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Power
Shell, Bash, etc. ), and expression languages (Regex, SQL).
- Experience with cloud-native security technologies and platforms (e. g. , AWS native services, O365 security tools, Box Shield, Salesforce Shield).
- Strong understanding of infrastructure systems, including Windows, Linux, network services, and their interaction with enterprise DLP and DSPM technologies.
- Familiarity with modern security engineering principles, including zero trust architecture, infrastructure-as-code, container security, and API-driven design.
- Hands-on experience with DLP solutions and endpoint security technologies in large, distributed enterprises.
- Experience integrating data protection systems into CI/CD pipelines and agile development workflows.
- Exposure to SIEMs, SOAR tools, and security analytics to support investigation automation and
- driven response.
- Familiarity with ITIL and Dev
Ops practices, including incident, change, and configuration management.

Basic Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree
OR
- Master’s degree and 2 years of Information Security or Information Technology experience
OR
- Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of Information Security or Information Technology experience
OR
- Associate’s degree and 10 years of Information Security or Information Technology experience
OR
- High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Security or Information Technology experience
- Doctorate degree
Preferred Certifications
- Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), Security+
- Relevant SANS Certifications (e. g. , SEC401, SEC511, SEC530)
