We are looking for a Data Platform Owner to join the team of our client – a reference company in the retail sector who is creating a new IT Hub in Portugal.

What will be your main tasks and responsibilities?

• Define and deliver the roadmap for enterprise data platform services, including ingestion, processing, modelling, reporting infrastructure, and AI/ML capabilities;
  
  
  
  
• Ensure secure,
  - quality, and
  - governed data assets are made available across business and product domains;
  
  
  
  
• Lead a distributed team of data professionals including data engineers, data scientists, data governance analysts, data QA lead, and data architects, working across both the CSC and Tech Hub;
  
  
  
  
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and product teams to understand data needs, KPI definitions, and access models;
  
  
  
  
• Ensure appropriate data controls, lineage, and governance processes are embedded in platform operations;
  
  
  
  
• Enable
  - serve analytics and data exploration through curated and trusted datasets;
  
  
  
  
• Oversee operational support, service quality, and continuous improvement of data platform components;
  
  
  
  
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal data policies;
  
  
  
  
• Act as the strategic owner for platform vendors and technologies related to data infrastructure;
  
  
  
  
• Enable data science and AI-driven initiatives through provision of advanced modelling, experimentation, and deployment environments;
  
  
  
  
• Integrate machine learning pipelines and AI capabilities into the core platform architecture where business value can be generated;
  
  
  
  
• Collaborate with data scientists and architects to scale predictive models, automation, and data enrichment use cases across the organisation.

What is required from you?

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field;
  
  
  
  
• Minimum 06 years of experience in data platform, engineering, or data management roles;
  
  
  
  
• Proven experience delivering scalable data infrastructure and services in a complex organization;
  
  
  
  
• Deep understanding of modern data platforms, data lakes, pipelines, reporting tools, and governance frameworks;
  
  
  
  
• Skilled in data modelling, data quality assurance, security, and access control;
  
  
  
  
• Experience with machine learning pipelines and AI platform integration;
  
  
  
  
• Relevantcertifications in data governance, cloud data platforms, or agile delivery are a plus;
  
  
  
  
• Strong collaboration skills across technical teams and business domains;
  
  
  
  
• Leadership inmanaging delivery, support, and compliance of data services;
  
  
  
  
• Comfortable operating in a
  - functional,
  - led organization;
  
  
  
  
• Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
