Data Scientist – Early-Stage AI Startup (Portugal-Based)

A promising
- stage startup is building a new product at the intersection of AI, data, and marketing. The founding team has deep Mar
Tech experience, early traction with design partners, and a clear path toward building a commercially viable
- defining platform.

They’re now looking for a Data Scientist to help shape the product’s intelligence layer—turning unstructured outputs into structured insight and driving the core models that power the platform.

The Role

As one of the first technical hires, you’ll be working directly with the founders to build and refine the product’s core logic. Expect a
- paced environment with high autonomy and a real opportunity to influence the direction of the product from day one.

What You’ll Work On

• Designing intelligent data pipelines and scoring frameworks
• Training models that classify, rank, and extract insight from messy data
• Combining LLM outputs with embeddings, classifiers, and statistical logic
• Building feedback loops to improve performance using
  - world signals
• Collaborating on the UX and data flows that drive user
  - making

What They’re Looking For

• 3–6 years of experience in data science or ML (ideally in Saa
  S, AI, or Mar
  Tech)
• Strong Python skills, including tools like
  - learn, Hugging
  Face, Lang
  Chain
• Understanding of NLP, embeddings, semantic similarity, and classification
• Startup mindset—able to operate autonomously and iterate quickly

Nice to Have

• Experience working with LLMs or building AI-enhanced interfaces
• Familiarity with funnel analytics, attribution models, or brand/consumer data
• Background in converting complex outputs into actionable business insight
