About the Role
We are seeking a Data Steward (Operations) to play a key role in driving data quality, governance, and compliance across critical operational datasets. This position is central to ensuring reliable analytics and reporting, enabling business users to make decisions based on trusted,
- quality data. You will focus on metadata management, data reliability, and stakeholder engagement, supporting the airline’s operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Data Governance & Stewardship
- Define and enforce data governance standards, policies, and processes across operational datasets.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to document business definitions, data ownership, and stewardship guidelines.
- Maintain data dictionaries, metadata, and lineage using Atlan.
Data Quality & Reliability
- Monitor data accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and consistency across systems.
- Utilize Monte Carlo for data observability to proactively detect and resolve data quality issues.
- Partner with data engineering teams to establish validation, profiling, and anomaly detection frameworks.
Stakeholder Engagement & Support
- Act as a bridge between business and technical teams, ensuring alignment of data requirements.
- Provide training and guidance to business users on accessing and leveraging trusted datasets.
- Support airline operations with reliable reporting and dashboards built on consistent,
- quality data. - Manage data lifecycle (from ingestion to archival) in compliance with aviation industry standards.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory, privacy, and security requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in data observability and quality monitoring.
- Strong proficiency in metadata management, cataloging, and lineage tracking.
- Solid knowledge of data governance, master data management, and data lifecycle practices.
- Familiarity with airline/aviation operational data (crew, scheduling, flight ops, maintenance) is a strong plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with IT teams, analysts, and business stakeholders.
