Database Administrator (Porto)

We’re looking for a Database Administrator with 5+ years of experience on supporting mission critical environments on AWS technologies:

• AWS RDS and Aurora Postgre
  SQL and My
  SQL
• Redshift

Key requirements are:

• Installation and configuration
• Performance & tuning
• Query optimization
• Workload management

Will be considered a plus the knowledge of the following AWS services:

• S3
• IAM
• Lambda
• Cloud
  Watch

As part of the Team, the new resource will be responsible to support at 360° database layer of several services on different technologies, participate into international projects and have a chance to influence current and future technology choices.

The ideal candidate has:

• a master’s degree in information technology / Maths / Physics / Statistics / Engineering or has an equivalent working experience.
• Strong persuading and influencing skills.
• Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to communicate effectively at both business and technical levels.

• Able to work independently with the minimum of supervision.
• The ability to liaise with different levels of staff within the organization.
• Good team player.
• Must be motivated to progress in the role.
• Self-starter with the ability to plan and manage work according to deadlines
• Pragmatic approach.
• Willingness to share experience / knowledge.
• Available to go 1 week per month to the Porto office (other 3 weeks Full Remote)
• The successful candidate must be available to work on shifts (the team covers 10h shift, 5 days a week) and being oncall (approx. one week per month).
• - Upper intermediate level (B2) of written and spoken English is a must.
