Context:

Within the distributed and mainframe department, the Database product team is in charge of 'database management'. Responsible for the database infrastructure, the mission is to provide database services covering the whole DB lifecycle to support customers on their move to the cloud journey. This role involves both deployment through projects and maintenance in operational condition, along with advisory services on Database strategy.

Organization is global, with DBAs positioned across the world and split into two teams for Oracle and SQL, DB2, and Mongo
DB. The role primarily supports the SQL team but ideally also extends to Oracle support, currently focusing on the systems supporting French customers with a growing global scope.

Services:

Database Operations (FOCUS, SQL Server)

General database services on productive systems include:

• Daily global operation meetings
• Responding to incidents, changes, and requests within defined SLA
• Monitoring backups and resolving issues
• Monitoring through tools and/or custom scripts
• General technical troubleshooting and resolution of issues
• Root cause analysis for incidents and proposing preventive measures
• Migration/upgrade/copy databases
• Supervision of automated patching
• Consulting, planning, and executing activities with customers
• Providing 24x7 support and resolving upcoming issues independently
• Supporting DR tests
• Communicating recognized risks, issues, and areas for improvement.

Engineering topics include:

• Contributing to the development and elaboration of IT standards
• Setting and maintaining documentation
• Automation, industrialization, and improvement of the Database infrastructure (scripting with T-SQL, Power
  Shell, and Puppet)
• Developing new services
• Security and Audit topics
• Evaluation of new features and DB-related products.
• Fixing issues and delivering tasks requested
• Recording actions taken in the ticketing tool (Service
  Now)
• Performing root cause analysis
• Documenting planned activities.

Expertise:

Must have expertise:

• SQL Server (2008 to 2022): Demonstrating senior expertise in database administration in complex international environments.
• Expertise with running SQL Server in Public Cloud: AWS, Azure

• Familiarity with Service
  Now
• Additional expertise in administration of Oracle, Mongo
  DB, Couchbase, Postgre
  SQL, Db2
• Puppet
• Expertise in change management (ITIL methodology)
• Experience in an international environment.
