Apply for the EIB Trainee – Secretariat General – Institutional Representation Division – Bratislava, Slovakia at European Investment Bank (EIB).
Duration: 5 months, fixed start date: 1 March 2026. Only applicants who are nationals of EU Member States or countries granted EU candidate status (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine) will be considered. Erasmus+ programmes overlapping the traineeship are not accepted. Applicants may submit a maximum of three traineeship publications;
the first three applications will be considered.
Objective – As a trainee in the EIB Group Office in Bratislava, you will support the Bank's efforts to represent and enhance the visibility of the EIB and EIF in Slovakia. You will assist in maintaining relationships with national counterparts, develop stakeholder and contact lists, prepare materials for external meetings, support social media engagement, organise conferences, workshops and high‐level visits, monitor political and economic developments, and contribute to internal reporting and visibility activities.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and preparation of the Office Newsletter.
- Assist with the social media engagement of the Bratislava Office, in line with EIB Group communication guidelines.
- Maintain and update contact and stakeholder databases.
- Monitor political and economic developments in Slovakia relevant to the EIB Group.
- Prepare presentations and briefing materials for meetings, conferences, and speaking engagements of the Head of Office.
- Assist with the organisation of external events, high‐level visits and meetings, including logistics and follow‐up.
- Participate in selected events and draft summary notes or reports for internal use.
- Liaise with colleagues from the European Commission, EU institutions, and international organisations as required.
- Contribute to other tasks related to representation, visibility and stakeholder outreach as needed.
Academic Qualifications and Professional Skills
- Final year of studies or University degree in Economics, Finance, EU Affairs, Political Science, Business, Communication or a related field.
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Linked
In, X/Twitter, Facebook) and an interest in digital communication.
- Good organisational and communication skills, proactive and collaborative attitude.
- Solid analytical and drafting skills, summarising complex information clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrated interest in European affairs and commitment to the values and mission of the EIB Group.
- Ability to work in an international environment, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, especially Power
Point, Word, Excel.
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English;
working knowledgeof Slovak is a strong advantage.
