Overview

The EIB, the European Union's bank, seeks a Deputy Secretary General/Head of EIB Group Permanent Representative’s Office in Brussels. This is a
- time, temporary position at grade 9, based in Brussels, with a 5-year appointment. The role involves leading the EIB Group’s representation in Brussels, managing departments related to economic analysis and strategy, and fostering strong relationships with EU institutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and manage staff within your area of responsibility.
• Develop strategic orientations for the EIB Group, engaging with internal and external stakeholders, especially EU institutions.
• Maintain and enhance relationships with EU institutions and other stakeholders.
• Ensure the effective development and implementation of the EIB Group’s strategies.
• Represent the EIB Group externally, particularly with EU bodies, international financial institutions, and civil society.

Qualifications

• University degree in a relevant field (business, finance, economics, law, international relations).
• Extensive experience with EU institutions or
  - level public sector roles.
• Minimum ten years’ managerial experience, leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of EIB objectives, financial institutions, and economic analysis.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and diplomatic skills.
• Proficiency in English and/or French; knowledge of other EU languages is a plus.

Additional Information

Assessment centers are expected in June 2025, with panel interviews in July 2025. The deadline for applications is 3rd June 2025. The role requires working time split between Brussels and Luxembourg and involves strategic leadership, stakeholder engagement, and
- level representation.
