Department Overview

BNP Paribas’ RISK department supports the definition of the risk appetite and risk decision‑making process of the Group.

RISK Global Services teams develop optimized resources, platforms and common services that add value for all of RISK. They cover market, counterparty, credit and liquidity topics in cooperation with RISK Business Domains, Global Practice teams, subsidiaries or branches.

RISK Systems is part of RISK Global Services and is responsible for risk capital markets IT systems. It combines development, business analysis and process re‑engineering skills and supports Backtesting and Calibration services within an Agile environment.

Your Main Activities

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable and reliable Python code.
• Rapidly prototype solutions to prove or disprove new concepts.
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, devise solutions, and improve performance, quality, and responsiveness.
• Incrementally deliver applications to meet dynamic customer requirements.
• Resolve incidents in a production environment.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to solve problems and blockages.

Profile And Skills To Success

• Academic degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics or related field.
• Proven experience with Python programming.
• 3 to 4 years of experience in a similar role.

Valued Technical And Functional Skills

• Solid understanding of object‑oriented and functional programming paradigms.
• Proficient in Python with good knowledge of its ecosystem and architectural patterns.
• Experience with SQL and industry standard relational database.
• Experience with unit, integration and end‑to‑end testing.
• Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.
• Familiarity with Agile/SAFE practices is a plus.
