The Work You'll Do

The Development Manager for Production Support is responsible for leading and managing a team that ensures the stability, reliability, and continuous operation of AWS‐based production systems and Google Apigee applications. This role bridges development and operations teams while maintaining critical business services in a cloud‐native Linux environment. It offers the opportunity to lead a global team while working with cutting‐edge cloud technologies and API management platforms in a dynamic, multi‐cultural environment.

More Specifically You Will

Team Leadership & Management

- Develop and grow a distributed team across multiple locations (Lisbon, Mumbai, São Paulo), including developing optimal structures and clear accountabilities, maximizing employee performance, providing mentoring and coaching

- Provide leadership and supervision to onshore/offshore resources and delegate responsibilities

- Arrange, assign, adjust and monitor shifts to ensure 24/7 coverage across time zones

Incident & Problem Management

- Incident management – minimise service disruption by driving timely resolution of AWS and Apigee‐related incidents

- Problem management – ensure a proactive stance to post‐incident review and problem follow‐up

- Prioritise issues raised and resolve accordingly, coordinate escalation and resolution of major service issues

- Provide 24x7 production support and crisis management for cloud infrastructure and API gateway services

Technical Operations

- Provide technical support for Linux‐based production systems and troubleshoot AWS/Apigee issues

- Monitor production environments, AWS services, Apigee gateways, and manage incident response using Grafana for log analysis

- Change Management – expedite change requests to ensure service availability in cloud environments

- Implement monitoring of key AWS services and Apigee components to reduce infrastructure downtime

Stakeholder Management

- Discuss all production support aspects with application development management across global locations

- Interact with AWS infrastructure teams, release management, change management, QA, and development teams

- Report promptly to management and business partners regarding critical outages until resolution

Process Improvement

- Use strong technical and operational skills to proactively identify and recommend opportunities, creating sound processes that increase efficiency and effectiveness in cloud operations

- Establish continuous monitoring of service delivery procedures to enable support team to deliver high quality services

- Drive automation initiatives for AWS resource management and Apigee configuration deployment

Reporting & Communication

- Provide regular status reports to management on application status and other metrics using Grafana dashboards

- Collaborate with management to improve and customise reports related to production support

What We Need From You

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field

- 6-8 years project and team management experience in cloud environments

- Experience leading multiple projects and applications concurrently in distributed teams

- AWS Expertise: EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, Cloud
Watch, VPC, IAM, ECS/EKS

- Google Apigee: API gateway management, policies, analytics, developer portal

- Linux Administration: Strong command‐line skills, system administration, scripting

- Grafana: Log analysis, dashboard creation, alerting configuration

- Scripting languages (Python, Bash, Shell scripting)

- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Cloud
Formation)

- Certifications (preferably):

- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Dev
Ops Engineer

- Google Cloud Professional certifications

- ITIL, PMP certifications

- Strong customer service skills and problem‐solving abilities

- Excellent communication skills in English (Portuguese/Hindi a plus)

- Experience managing distributed teams across multiple time zones

- Ability to work under pressure in 24/7 cloud production environments

- Experience with vendor management and cloud service SLAs

- Willingness to participate in on‐call rotations

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Dev
Ops practices

- Understanding of microservices architecture and API management

- Knowledge of container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) preferred
