About the Role:
Data Stack Management & Evolution (50%):
- Maintain, optimize, and scale Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake)
- Optimize SQL queries and datasets for client reporting (Metabase)
- Manage data modeling and governance
- Collaborate with Product, Dev
Ops, and Data teams to create
- performance datasets
Dev
Ops & Monitoring (50%):
- Oversee and reduce Databricks costs through detailed log analysis
- Ensure the reliability and maintenance of data pipelines
- Work with AWS and Azure in collaboration with the Dev
Ops team - Set up technical documentation and knowledge sharing
Artificial Intelligence & Predictive (Phase 2):
- Utilize Databricks' AI features for predictive analysis
- Work with the Data Science team on advanced use cases
Technical stack and tools:
- Airbyte for ETL
- Metabase for data visualization
- Advanced SQL – Key skill
What you'll bring to the Team:
- 5+ years in Data Engineering, with expertise in Databricks and/or Spark
- SQL expertise: Ability to optimize queries for high volume
- Advanced proficiency in Spark & Databricks (Delta Lake, optimizations, cost, scalability)
- Analytical and performance optimization skills
- Experience with reporting and BI (Metabase or similar)
- Good communication skills to work with Product and Dev
