Ops Engineer for Global Observability Platform (m/f/d).
In this IT role, you will manage, develop, and support the technology infrastructure that powers Kuehne+Nagel’s global systems and operations. This contribution enables our teams to deliver goods and services worldwide. Kuehne+Nagel is embarking on an exciting journey to enhance operational excellence through a Global Observability Platform using Grafana LGTM (Loki, Grafana, Tempo, and Mimir).
How you create impact
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage the observability platform using Terraform and Kubernetes.
- Automate deployment and configuration of Grafana LGTM stack components.
- Develop CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure provisioning and application monitoring.
- Optimize logging, metrics, and tracing pipelines for
- scale environments. - Ensure security, governance, and access control policies are implemented effectively.
- Create and maintain
- service mechanisms to enable teams to configure their own dashboards, alerts, and observability settings. - Collaborate with SRE, security, and development teams to integrate observability best practices into the Dev
Ops lifecycle. - Provide technical guidance and training to internal teams on observability and monitoring strategies.
- Continuously improve platform performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Kubernetes (EKS preferred) and container orchestration.
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm, or similar tools).
- Hands-on experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Open
Search, or Open
Telemetry. - Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation using Git
Lab, Git
Hub Actions, or similar tools. - Knowledge of logging, metrics, and tracing standards, including Fluentd, Fluent
Bit, and Open
Telemetry. - Experience with cloud environments, preferably AWS.
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and access control in cloud environments.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or Go.
- Problem-solving mindset with a passion for operational excellence and performance optimization.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
