About the Client
We're looking for talent to strengthen our team of software engineers with site reliability practices on our AWS and Vercel cloud platforms. As a site reliability engineer, you'll work together with the software engineers to ensure that the software applications run fast and reliably while maintaining observability and alerting.
Hard Skills
Proven experience deploying and managing applications on AWS, including:
- Auto-scaling and load balancing
- Deployment via EC2, Fargate, ECS, and/or Elastic Beanstalk
- Infrastructure configuration using Terraform (Ia
C) for services such as IAM, RDS, Open
Search, and Elasti
Cache - Familiarity with AWS security best practices, including OWASP, AWS Well-Architected Framework, and vulnerability scanning
- Cost and performance tuning of cloud services (preferred)
Experience deploying and running applications on Vercel (preferred)
Implementation of observability tools across the tech stack:
- Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools like New Relic or App
Signal - Log collection and dashboarding using tools like Cloud
Watch - Structured logging practices, such as using lograge (preferred)
Experience facilitating CI/CD pipelines, including:
- Building and deploying Docker containers
- Configuration and management of Git
Lab CI pipelines (preferred) - Experience with online schema migrations (preferred)
Establishing and maintaining processes for incident handling and prevention:
- Configuration of alerting systems
- Managing
- call rotations and rulesets - Conducting
- mortems and following up on mitigation actions
Hands-on experience implementing fixes to improve performance and reliability in applications (preferred)
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience
