DevOps Support Engineer
The position is required to play a
- quality technical support role in the Configuration, Operations, Support and Troubleshooting of an IT applicational platform.
The role is required to be
- call on a rotating basis throughout the year and is required to work with Support Service Level 3 Support Engineers, Client Dev/Operations Teams and 3rd Party Content Providers to resolve technical/operational issues whenever necessary. You are required to escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal/external teams.
This role will also require working on other new requirements as and when required. The candidate is required to be proactive in
- learning and by engaging senior engineers/peers.
Requirements
- IT degree from University (or equivalent)
- At least 2–3 years acting as an Application Engineer in Java and Database‑related technologies
- At least 1 or 2 years’ experience in Media, Telco‑OSS/BSS, VAS or Software Houses sectors
- Knowledge of microservices – cloud, Rabbit
MQ, Redis, Oracle, Elasticsearch, Java, Linux, Tomcat and Memcache - Developing and maintaining cloud solutions in accordance with best practices
- Testing Frameworks (JUnit), Source Control (SVN), Maven, Jenkins
- Other technologies: Cloud (Azure/AWS), Grafana, Zabbix
- Experience with CI/CD systems
Additional Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining cloud solutions in accordance with best practices.
- Prioritize and manage several open issues at one time and ensure all issues are properly logged in the assigned ticketing systems.
- Follow up to ensure IT systems are fully functional after troubleshooting.
- Analyze business and operational requirements from Client and ensure timely response.
- Development and deployment of any change request coming from Dev & Ops team.
- Follow the guidelines of Client’s operational and development strategies.
- Prepare complete documents and presentations for the Change Management process.
- Document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals.
- Prepare accurate feedback and timely reports.
- Attend Client’s operational and ad‑hoc meetings.
- Required to be on‑call on a rotation basis.
