Construction Director – ATLANTICA, Portugal

We are now searching for a Construction Director — a leader who can turn vision into reality. Someone who can lock and execute the design and EPC contract, lead the tender and procurement process, and direct multidisciplinary teams through construction, supervision, and delivery.

You will take full ownership of project delivery — from contract close to handover — ensuring ATLANTICA is built on time, on budget, and to the highest international standards.

Ultimately, your mission is to deliver world‑class infrastructure and experiences that put Portugal on the global map of surf and lifestyle innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the full tendering and procurement process, ensuring transparency, value, and compliance.
• Direct multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams across all phases — groundworks, vertical build, MEP, landscaping, and commissioning.
• Finalize and execute the EPC contract and all major sub‑contracts.
• Chair weekly site and steering meetings; report directly to the Leadership Team and Board.
• Guarantee quality, safety, and ESG standards while meeting Portuguese and EU regulations.
• Integrate sustainability and carbon reduction into every construction decision.
• Ensure full as‑built documentation, warranties, and O&M handovers to the operational team.

Your Background

• 10+ years leading large‑scale (€50M+) mixed‑use or hospitality builds in Portugal or the EU.
• Proven track record managing full‑cycle construction — from pre‑construction to commissioning.
• Deep knowledge of Portuguese construction law, procurement, and supervision.
• Preferable experience with water‑related infrastructure (dams, pipelines, bridges) is a strong plus.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.
• Hands‑on, decisive, and commercially sharp — a true team leader and finisher who gets things done.
