Job Title: Director of engineering - Luxury hotel Location: Lisbon, Portugal

A luxury lifestyle hotel in a busy centre location in Lisbon is seeking a Director of engineering to lead its engineering and maintenance function. The Director of engineering will report directly to the Operations Manager / General Manager and oversee a team consisting of an Engineering Supervisor and four Engineers.

• Lead all engineering, technical, and maintenance operations within the hotel
• Ensure full compliance with safety, legal, brand, and operational standards
• Oversee preventive maintenance programs and manage all building systems
• Guide and support the engineering team, promoting strong performance and a driven culture
• Manage relationships with contractors, suppliers, and brand representatives
• Support overall hotel operations by maintaining high service and efficiency levels

• Proven experience within major international hotel brands (e. G. global luxury or lifestyle groups)
• Background in luxury or luxury lifestyle hotels
• Portuguese or Spanish fluency is essential
• Advanced English required
• Strong leadership skills and experience managing engineering teams in dynamic, footfall environments
• Pre‑opening experience is beneficial but not required
