Job Overview
Manage and support the operational elements and execution of studies and/or programs to ensure delivery, time, and quality, resulting in strong financial performance and customer satisfaction in accordance with SOPs, policies, and practices from
- award to
- out. Collaborate with study and program teams to leverage deep therapeutic expertise and IQVIA solutions to drive operational excellence and strategic leadership with our customers. Support the management of the EU internal medicine project management team.
- Only applications with extensive experience in Ophthalmology, Respiratory, or Gastrointestinal diseases will be considered.
- This role is not eligible for UK Visa Sponsorship.
Essential Functions
- Participate in bid defense preparations and lead bid defense presentations in partnership with Business Development. Support the development of project strategy and operationalize the approach.
- Develop and support the preparation of integrated study management plans in collaboration with the core project team.
- Accountable for the strategic development and execution or delivery of clinical studies in line with contracts, optimizing speed, quality, and cost of delivery, ensuring the consistent use of study tools and training materials, and compliance with system updates, policies, and procedures.
- Serve as the primary project oversight contact with customers and maintain relationships with key customer contacts. Communicate and collaborate with IQVIA business development representatives as necessary.
- Set objectives for the core project team based on contracts, strategy, and approach; communicate effectively, assess performance, and provide feedback and leadership.
- Collaborate with other functional groups within the company to support milestone achievement and manage study issues and obstacles.
- Monitor progress against contracts and proactively prepare and present project information to stakeholders internally and externally.
- Supervise
- solving and resolution efforts, including risk management, contingencies, and issues. Take accountability for proactive contingency planning to mitigate risks. - Coach and mentor junior team members on project delivery, planning, review, risk management, and problem solving to ensure global alignment of work practices.
- Ensure project quality by identifying and managing quality risks and issues, and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Participate in executive committees as part of program leadership if required.
- Ensure the financial success of the project by managing resources effectively to achieve project goals and profitability.
- Forecast and identify opportunities to accelerate activities, milestones, and revenue; implement actions to achieve these goals.
- Manage scope changes and the change control process, including securing customer approval for financial and milestone updates.
- Communicate lessons learned and best practices for continuous improvement.
- Support corporate initiatives and serve as a change advocate when necessary.
- Provide input on team members' performance and support staff development. Mentor less experienced project team members.
Qualifications
- Requires 12 years of relevant experience, including substantial project management or functional experience.
- At least 7 years' experience in Ophthalmology, Respiratory, or Gastrointestinal diseases.
- Equivalent education, training, and experience are acceptable.
- Deep knowledge of clinical trials and applicable regulatory requirements such as GCP and ICH guidelines.
- Strong understanding of the Clinical Research industry and relevant operational environments.
