The International Dialogue Centre – KAICIID, is seeking a Driver for the Executive Office of the Secretary General. You will be headquartered in Lisbon, Portugal, and work with an engaged and multicultural team of passionate individuals to deliver on our global mandate.

Your Team
The Executive Office of the Secretary General (EOSG) is the immediate structure supporting the KAICIID Secretary General. The Office is tasked with the overall leadership of KAICIID and for ensuring that the Centre delivers on its mandate
- à-vis the Council of Parties and the Board of Directors.
Role
Reporting to the relevant officer, the Driver’s role is to provide the services as designated Driver for the Secretary General.
A successful Driver must have strong initiative and a desire to support the work of the team and the Centre. Each day will be a little different and you can expect to support the transportation needs of the Leadership Team, conduct deliveries and manage the transport of materials and people.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provides driving services to the Secretary General, ensuring compliance with road regulations and safe, efficient and reliable service;
- Readiness to work frequently outside normal working hours, including weekends and late nights, at a short notice;
- When requested, meets official visitors at the airport and facilitates Immigration and Customs formalities;
- When requested, collects and delivers documents, small equipment for maintenance or for conference/event support;
- When requested, supports events, conferences and/or other KAICIID meetings by driving staff members or participants to/from location;
- Ensures

- day maintenance of the assigned vehicle and checks fuel, oil, water, battery, brakes, tires and similar; ensures regular maintenance with the work station;
- Performs minor repairs and arranges other repairs, ensuring that the vehicle is kept in working order and clean;
- Logs official trips, daily mileage, fuel consumption, oil changes, greasing etc. ;
- Does the small emergency shopping when required;
- Proactively
- up other driver and also relevant section/team to share the workload on a daily basis;
- When requested, assists in office moves,
- up of new working stations and refurbishments as required;
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Education Completion of High School diploma or equivalent is required. A Valid National Driver License is required;
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the provision of driver services is required;
- At least 3 years’ experience in driving senior management officials;
- Ability to handle complex logistical arrangements with minimal notice;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Readiness to work frequently outside normal working hours, including weekends, at a short notice;
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information;
- Commitment to the highest ethical standards and human rights;
- Knowledge of the Local Area;
- Basic vehicle troubleshooting skills;
- Experience in driving a variety of models of vehicles, including vans and other kinds of motorized vehicles, is required.
Languages
- English proficiency essential.
- Knowledge of Portuguese and/or any other major language is desirable.
Terms of Appointment
KAICIID offers
- term contracts of one year with a possibility of extension, subject to satisfactory performance and the continuing need for the position. The yearly salary for this role is EUR 16, 812 (Grade 8, Step 1) and is exempt from income tax in Portugal. Appointments are normally made at Step 1 of the applicable salary scale. Subject to the candidates’ relevant work experience, in exceptional cases, an initial appointment at higher step may be considered.
The selected candidate will participate in the Centre’s private group health insurance scheme. Staff members are entitled to 30 working days of annual leave per calendar year and to paid leave on the 14 official holidays of the Centre.
