We have created a dedicated Data Centre business with a global footprint. We are now recruiting an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Lead to join our Data Centre team in Portugal.

Job Description

This is an ideal role for a
- driven professional with excellent communications and client management skills, looking to work on large impactful projects.

• Ensure awareness among project managers with regard to the subject of Safety.
• Prepare, implement, and monitor construction project EHS plans.
• Lead safety meetings with client & trades.
• Supervise client’s project EHS oversight resources, including outsource EHS competent persons.
• Assess and approve contractor safety plans.
• Review and comment on high‑risk activities.
• Champion safety initiatives and support client safety campaigns.
• Apply lessons learnt and best practice.
• Lead investigations and root‑cause analysis.
• Provide safety support & guidance.
• Ensure client’s safety requirements and local codes are met.
• Ensure synergy with the Safety Programme led by Turner & Townsend.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in EHS lead management positions.
• Demonstrable experience working on large‑scale, complex projects. Data centre experience is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in project control mechanisms and technical risk assessments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to visualise issues and communicate them to others.
• Outstanding organisational, coordination, and leadership skills – ability to motivate consultants/contractors.
• Experienced in developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and comfortable with being client facing.
• Ability to work collaboratively and proactively in a team environment.
• Availability for on‑site work.
