EIB Trainee – Human Resources Directorate – Strategy, Risks & Processes Unit – Luxembourg
This position is based at our Luxembourg headquarters and requires regular office presence. The EIB offers you the opportunity to live and work in a truly international and multi‑cultural environment.
Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st April 2026) with possible extension up to 6 months if required by University.
Eligibility: Only applicants from Member States of the European Union and candidate countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine) are considered. Candidates whose Erasmus+ programme overlaps with the duration of the traineeship will not be considered. Applications will be limited to a maximum of three per applicant; only the first three applications will be retained.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders within HR to gather information on processes, update existing process documents (text-based descriptions, flowcharts and RACI matrices).
- Run mini‑projects to improve processes by reviewing the status quo, identifying inefficiencies and proposing simpler steps with an implementation plan.
- Support the team in other areas such as compliance and operational risk assessment, testing existing controls and drafting controls to address identified gaps, and reporting of key risk indicators under the Bank's risk appetite framework.
Qualifications and Professional Skills:
- Final year of studies or university degree in Project Management, Business Management, or related subject such as process and organisational design.
- Analytical and structured thinking.
- Project timeline and deadline management.
- Effective communication with stakeholders at all levels and areas of expertise.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, especially Power
Point and ideally Visio. - Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of another EU language would be an advantage.
