EIB Trainee - Secretariat General - Institutional Representation Division - based in Athens, Greece
Join the European Investment Bank (EIB) as a trainee in our Secretariat General – Shareholder Relations and Institutional Matters Department (SR&IM) – Institutional Representation Division (IRD) at the Athens Office.
Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1 March 2026)
Eligibility: Only nationals of EU Member States or citizens of official candidate countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine) may apply. Erasmus+ programmes overlapping the traineeship duration are not accepted. Applications are limited to a maximum of three submissions;
only the first three will be considered.
Objective: Gain valuable experience in an EU institution and deepen understanding of the EIB Group's activities in Greece by supporting the Athens Office with briefings, reports, newsletters, social media, and event organisation, under the guidance of the Head of Office.
Responsibilities
- Understand the EIB Group's activities, policies and priorities in Greece.
- Collect information on economic and political developments in Greece.
- Support the preparation of briefings, presentations and speeches on priority areas such as climate, energy, innovation, housing, and security & defence.
- Monitor policy and market developments and contribute to events, newsletters, social media and other communication initiatives to promote the EIB Group's activities.
Academic Qualifications And Professional Skills
- Final year of studies or university degree in economics, business, engineering, law, marketing or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of EU institutions, policies and priorities, especially in climate, energy, innovation, housing, security and defence.
- Familiarity with social media and communication tools, and interest in event coordination and public outreach.
- Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent written and spoken English;
knowledge of Greek is an advantage.
