EIB Trainee - Information Systems Directorate - Cloud Enablement Unit - based in Luxembourg
This position is based at our Luxembourg headquarters and requires regular office presence. The EIB offers opportunities to live and work in a truly international and multi‑cultural environment.
Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st March/April 2026) with possible extension up to 6 months if required by University.
Eligibility: Applications are considered only from nationals of EU Member States or countries granted EU candidate status (Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine). Erasmus+ programmes overlapping the traineeship are not considered. Candidates are requested to limit applications to a maximum of three traineeship publications; only the first three submitted will be considered.
Objective of the traineeship: You will support the exploration and adoption of automated testing practices within a defined scope, such as a single development team or pilot project. Your work will focus on researching best practices, piloting selected tools or frameworks, and preparing documentation to facilitate future adoption.
Responsibilities
- Conduct a review of current testing practices within a selected team or project.
- Pilot one or two automated testing tools or frameworks, with guidance from your supervisor.
- Document your findings, challenges, and recommendations.
- Prepare onboarding materials or a short presentation for other teams.
- Participate in team meetings and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
Academic Qualifications & Professional Skills
- Final year of studies or University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Interest in software testing and automation domain in IT.
- Hands‑on knowledge/skills in software engineering development and deployment domains would be an advantage.
- Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Power
Point). - Excellent written and spoken English. Knowledge of another EU language would be an advantage.
