EIB Trainee - Portfolio Management & Monitoring Directorate - Equity and Growth Capital Division - based in Luxembourg

Join the European Investment Bank (EIB) in its Luxembourg headquarters. As a Trainee in the Portfolio Management & Monitoring Directorate (PMM), you will support the monitoring of the bank’s equity portfolios, particularly the venture debt portfolio managed by the Division.

Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st March 2026, possibility of extension up to 6 months if required by university). Eligibility: Applicants must be nationals of EU member states or citizens from candidate countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine) and cannot have an overlapping Erasmus+ programme.

Responsibilities:

• Assist Senior officers in performing monitoring tasks, including financial analysis and support with valuations.
• Prepare internal and external reports and correspondence.
• Maintain a monitoring database for the team’s
  - related portfolio.
• Follow up on delivery of and review of financial statements from borrowers, prepare financial analysis and counterparty reviews including scoring and KYC updates.
• Analyze
  - signature events and proposals for changes/decisions from borrowers, including financial and legal review, and implement event resolutions.

Academic Qualifications and Professional Skills:

• Final year of studies or university degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or Law, or equivalent training in financial sector analysis.
• Basic knowledge of financial analysis.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power
  Point).
• Excellent numerical skills.
• Understanding of the EIB mission and its operating framework.
• Excellent spoken and written English; knowledge of another EU language is an advantage.
