EIB Trainee - Secretariat General - Institutional Representation Division - based in Budapest, Hungary

Apply for the EIB Trainee role at the European Investment Bank (EIB). This position is based in the EIB Local office in Budapest, Hungary, and requires regular office presence in a truly international and multi‑cultural environment.

Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1 March 2026)

Eligibility: Applicants must be nationals of EU Member States or citizens of EU candidate states (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine). Candidates with overlapping Erasmus+ programmes or more than three traineeship applications will not be considered.

Responsibilities

• Support the administration of the office, organise participation of colleagues in seminars and research conferences when suitable.
• Support events and initiatives organised by the Office, including input to briefings, presentations for conferences, monthly newsletters, etc.
• Handle ad‑hoc requests such as setting up EIB stands at conferences, organising gadgets and materials for distribution, disposing of confidential documents, liaising with student communities, comparing offers in procurement processes for office purchases, and other relevant tasks.

Academic Qualifications and Professional Skills

• Final year of studies or a university degree preferably in Economics, Finance, Business Management, Communications or IT.
• Familiarity with the local culture and economic landscape is considered an advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Power
  Point).
• Excellent written and spoken English and/or French; knowledge of Hungarian is an advantage.
