EIB Trainee - Secretariat General - Institutional Representation Division - based in Zagreb, Croatia

This position is based at our EIB Local office in Zagreb, Croatia and requires regular office presence. The EIB offers you the opportunity to live and work in a truly international and multi‑cultural environment.

Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st March 2026)

Important: Only applications from nationals of the Member States of the European Union, as well as citizens from countries that have been officially granted candidate status to join the EU (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine) will be considered. Candidates whose Erasmus+ programme overlaps with the duration of the traineeship will not be considered. Please limit your applications to a maximum of three traineeship publications; only the first three applications will be considered.

Objective of the traineeship—the goal is to support the EIB Zagreb Office in its engagement with the VP Office and Croatian public officials for successful representation and enhanced visibility of the EIB institution. You will report to the Head of Office and work with the Office Manager.

Responsibilities

• Organisation of events and meetings (logistics and invitations)
• Maintaining database of stakeholders
• Contacting public organisations
• Liaising with colleagues from the EU Commission and other EU and international organisations as needed
• Collecting data, preparing databases, and performing guided analysis
• Preparing presentations
• Writing draft notes, reports, and other tasks as needed

The role will also support the Head of Office with posting on social media to improve the communication of the Office and the EIB projects in Croatia.

Academic Qualifications And Professional Skills

• Final year of studies or university degree preferably in Economics, Finance, Business Management, and/or Communication
• Good communication skills and proactive attitude
• Good analytical and drafting skills
• Working knowledge of social media platforms, especially Linked

• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Power
  Point
• Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English; working knowledge of Croatian would be an advantage
