EIB Trainees - Portfolio Management & Monitoring Directorate - Disbursements Division - based in Luxembourg

This position is based at our Luxembourg headquarters and requires regular office presence. The EIB offers you the opportunity to live and work in an international, multi‑cultural environment.

Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st April 2026). The programme may be extended up to 6 months if required by the university.

Eligibility: Only applicants who are nationals of EU Member States or citizens of candidate countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine) will be considered. Candidates participating in Erasmus+ programmes overlapping the traineeship duration or applying for more than three traineeship publications will not be considered.

Objective of the traineeship: The Joint Middle Office Department (JMO) Disbursements Division (DISB) is responsible for disbursement activities for various lending products of the Bank. You will familiarize yourself with EIB disbursement procedures, lending contractual documentation and assist the team in achieving its business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of disbursement documentation for the validation of disbursements.
• Support input on regular statistics.
• Contribute to revision of processes and update of the Division centralised procedure space.
• Prepare a FAQ guide on disbursements for the front office Officers.

Academic Qualifications and Professional Skills

• Final year of studies or university degree preferably in finance, accounting, law or a similar discipline.
• First experience in accounting, law firm or audit considered an advantage.
• Good to advanced knowledge of MS Office, especially Word and Excel; data analytics and/or MS Collaboration software (Share
  Point) preferred.
• Excellent written and spoken English. Knowledge of German, Italian or Spanish is an asset; other EU languages are an advantage.
