Job Title:Electrical Engineer – Solar PV Projects
Location: Porto, Portugal
Work Regime: Full-time & Hybrid
Important: The projects assume availability for international travel, such as France, Senegal, among other countries.
Overview / Summary:
Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join their team in Porto. This role is focused on the design and optimization of electrical systems for renewable energy projects, particularly in the solar photovoltaic sector. The position involves both technical design responsibilities and coordination across multidisciplinary teams, with a global scope.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze technical documentation received for each project, including RFPs, RFQs, and tender documents, with impact on electrical design.
Interpret inputs from the Power Systems team, particularly regarding Grid Code compliance, Po
CC specs, and grid support requirements.
Optimize electrical design solutions from both technical and financial perspectives.
Provide guidance to the CAD team for plant design, considering
- specific constraints, configuration, and technical parameters.
Contribute to the creation of preliminary layouts and monitor the development of electrical drawings.
Conduct energy yield assessments using tools like PVsyst, following internal guidelines.
Compare and analyze meteorological data and production estimates.
Prepare single line diagrams (SLDs) and perform capacity studies in collaboration with the Civil Engineering team.
Explore alternative engineering solutions for project efficiency.
Review external designs and calculations provided by subcontractors.
Conduct market research related to electrical equipment and systems.
Liaise with suppliers to evaluate and discuss technical solutions and infrastructure specifications.
Prepare bills of quantities and comprehensive technical documentation (reports, drawings, O&M manuals, etc. ).
Produce technical content for licensing, EPC, and execution phases.
Support site surveys and provide technical assistance during construction.
Prepare and update As-Built documentation reflecting
- site changes.
Requirements
Requirements:
Degree or Master's in Electrical or Electrotechnical Engineering (specialization in Energy Systems preferred).
At least 3 years of experience in electrical engineering, with solar PV experience highly valued.
Proficiency in MS Office, Auto
CAD, and electrical design software.
Fluent in English; French is a plus.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
