Responsibilities
- Participate in and improve installation workflows, including planning, field support, and documentation.
- Follow and adapt standard procedures for commissioning and verification of energy systems.
- Conduct site surveys and support the installation processes.
- Prepare and review technical documentation.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers or technicians.
- Delegate tasks, support troubleshooting, and promote good engineering practices within the team.
- Communicate effectively with field teams, internal stakeholders, and occasional clients.

Specific Skills Required
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in electrical or energy systems.
- Experience with electrical panels, hardware integration, and on‑site installations.
- Familiarity with energy management systems and Io
T architectures (e. g. , Modbus, MQTT). - Understanding of site surveys, commissioning, and standard field procedures.
- Ability to work with firmware or embedded systems (a bonus, not mandatory).
- Proven ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
- Skilled in delegating, supporting team troubleshooting, and upholding high engineering standards.
Location: Lisbon, Portugal
Employees need to have Portuguese tax residency, and be located in Lisbon Region.
Position sponsored by Portuguese R&D Funding Project: 12 months contract, with possibility to renew to permanent contract after the first contracting period.
Smart Energy LAB - Senior Electrical Engineer
In order to create the future, we are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Lead from start to finish project ownership from specification to design, prototype, and manufacturing (e. g. electric vehicle charging points, home batteries, inverters, local controllers, gateways, load monitoring hardware).
- Lead the design and development of digital and analog electronics for control of electronic systems.
- Lead hardware and electrical engineers.
- Collaborative work with software engineers, project managers and business analysts.
- Technical requirements analysis and specification.
- Sourcing of components.
- Installation process optimization for consumer‑facing products.

CTS Group – Electrical Design Engineer (Data Centers)
The CTS Group SA is a fast‑growing and dynamic company, specializing in the design and build of large‑scale Data Centers across multiple countries, including Scandinavia, Europe, and the Middle East.
About the Role
We are looking for a detail‑oriented and proactive Electrical Engineer to join our Lisbon office. This role is key in designing and developing high‑quality, reliable, and efficient electrical systems for Data Centers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems for Data Centers, including power distribution, grounding, lighting, and standby power.
- Create and manage single‑line diagrams, electrical schematics, and panel schedules using EPLAN and Revit.
- Perform power system analysis (short circuit, load flow, arc flash, protection coordination) using ETAP.
- Develop and validate lighting and emergency lighting designs using DIALux.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, civil, architectural) to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
- Participate in peer design reviews, ensuring compliance with international standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA 70E).
- Prepare detailed design documentation, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
- Support commissioning teams and respond to RFIs during construction phases.
- Ensure compliance with local electrical codes and global data center design standards.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in mission‑critical power systems.
- Collaborate closely with design partners from other engineering disciplines.
Required Skills and Experience
- Junior: 3+ years.
- Intermediate: 5+ years.
- Senior: 8+ years (including at least 2 years leading data center or mission‑critical infrastructure design).
- Preferably proficient in or familiar with: ETAP, EPLAN, Revit, DIALux.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEC, IEEE, NFPA 70E).
- Familiarity with Tier classifications (Uptime Institute) and redundancy concepts (N, N+1, 2N).
- Experience in mission‑critical environments (data centers, telecom, hospitals, etc. ).
- Exposure to HV/MV substations, switchgear layouts, and BMS integration.
- Knowledge of digital twin concepts or energy monitoring systems is a plus.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in English (mandatory); other languages are an advantage.
