Overview
We are seeking a hands‑on Activation Manager / Developer to power the technical execution of Google’s DACH marketing events. This role combines email development, event technology setup, and audience activation — ensuring every campaign runs seamlessly from invitation through attendance. You’ll build and manage the tools, templates, and automations that bring events like OMR, You
Tube Festival, DMEXCO, GML, and C‑level programs to life. Working closely with the Events Audience & Data Operations Analyst and the Account Manager, you’ll translate activation requirements into efficient, scalable workflows — configuring RSVP sites, nomination forms, confirmation emails, and live accreditation tools that operate across multiple platforms. This is an execution‑driven role for someone who loves to build, test, and optimize. You’ll code dynamic, responsive communications; maintain internal booking and nomination systems (built in Apps Script); and ensure clean data flow between internal and external registration environments. Success in this position comes from technical precision, speed, and reliability — ensuring audiences receive the right messages at the right time, registration systems sync flawlessly, and every activation is delivered on time for high‑visibility DACH events.
Scope and Deliverables
Event Campaign Activation
Build and configure RSVP, nomination, and registration flows for flagship and regional events, including OMR, You
Tube Festival, DMEXCO, GML, and C‑level programs.
Manage multiple concurrent registration sites and related workflows, ensuring consistency in data collection, form logic, and audience segmentation.
Set up and QA confirmation and reminder email automations to align with registration and attendance milestones.
Tool and Platform Development
Maintain and enhance internal activation tools built on Google Apps Script — including booking systems, nomination forms, and approval workflows.
Collaborate with the Co
E DACH team to implement automation improvements, fix bugs, and streamline data handling between internal and third‑party platforms.
Execute updates to templates, components, and triggers as activation processes evolve across events.
Data Flow Integrity
Validate that data syncs accurately between internal booking systems, external RSVP tools, and email communications.
Conduct pre‑launch and post‑event checks to ensure all invite, registration, and attendance data reconciles correctly.
Support post‑event upload and close‑out processes, ensuring clean data handoff to reporting owners (One Market Calendar, KPI dashboards).
Live Event Readiness
Prepare and test on‑the‑day systems for first‑party events (e. g. , You
Tube Festival) including accreditation and check‑in tools.
Troubleshoot live activation or data integration issues in collaboration with event operations and vendor teams.
Continuous Optimization
Identify repeatable workflows and automate where possible to reduce manual setup time across event cycles.
Maintain clear documentation of activation builds, templates, and change logs for ongoing improvement and scalability.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in email development and operations within large‑scale marketing organizations.
- Background in email marketing, or marketing automation delivery.
- Proven experience in email campaign development using HTML, CSS, and dynamic content logic.
- Familiarity with enterprise‑level email platforms and ability to adapt to and master new proprietary tools quickly (experience with Gamma or GNP advantageous).
- Experience working with data integrations, including audience segmentation, personalization, and tagging frameworks.
- Strong understanding of email QA processes, responsive frameworks, and deliverability considerations.
- Strong understanding of audience targeting, segmentation, and data hygiene principles.
- Strong understanding of GDPR and DACH‑specific data privacy standards, ensuring compliant handling of audience and registration data across all event workflows.
- Ability to identify process inefficiencies and propose automation or workflow enhancements.
- Skilled in testing methodologies, data validation, and process documentation.
