Embedded Software Engineer Lisboa

Overview

STRYPES is looking for new colleagues to join our team as an Embedded Software Engineer.

We are a Dutch-Portuguese software development company, based in Lisbon and Porto. We focus on embedded software solutions including embedded Linux,
- time operating systems, and
- metal applications, as well as operating systems, board support packages and device driver development. To cover this wide range of disciplines, we believe that exceptional and highly empowered employees are essential.

We operate in a hybrid model with offices in Lisbon and Porto. We are happy to hire candidates from any city in Portugal who would be available to come to the office regularly.

Responsibilities

• Perform any of the activities of the software development lifecycle: analyze, design, develop, test, debug, profile, and maintain embedded software, potentially including applications, device drivers, network stacks, board support packages,
  - time operating systems, and
  - metal executables.
• Produce technical documentation as required.
• Interface with clients and partners to understand their wants and needs.

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience

• Academic background in Engineering or similar (Software, Electronics, Physics, Mathematics).
• Knowledge of C/C++/Python or other programming languages used in embedded/systems programming context.
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming.
• Preferably with a GNU/Linux background.
• Proactive attitude, critical thinker, and problem solver.
• Motivated individual with the ability to think outside the box.
• Good communication skills in English.

Our recruitment process

Consists of three distinct steps, each designed to assess different aspects of a candidate's qualifications, skills, and alignment with the organization.

1. Stage 1 – 30-minute conversation with recruiter.
2. Stage 2 – 1-hour technical conversation with members of the engineering team.
3. Stage 3 – 1-hour conversation with PM or CEO.
