About the Role
As Engagement Manager, you’ll make sure our Lisbon hub is functional, inspiring, and full of energy – balancing office operations, culture‑building, and onboarding with care and precision. You’ll be the connector between people, space, and process – keeping things running behind the scenes while ensuring every Algo has what they need to do their best work.
Responsibilities
- Welcome & onboard: Partner with the People team to deliver a best‑in‑class onboarding experience, host onboarding days for new joiners, and set up equipment and access.
- Plan & celebrate: Organize local events and celebrations that strengthen our sense of community – team lunches, milestone moments, and global townhall viewings.
- Own the space: Manage day‑to‑day operations of the Lisbon office – supplies, budgets, vendor coordination, and maintaining clean, safe, and ready spaces.
- Relationship management & engagement: Build rapport with the diverse workforce, manage workforce performance and quarterly NPS distribution, support client annual planning sessions, and identify client priorities.
- Health & safety first: Conduct regular H&S checks, maintain compliance documentation, and work closely with space management to ensure a safe environment.
- Support travel & expenses: Assist with travel logistics, bookings, and expense coordination.
- Keep it running: Manage office budgets, invoices, and purchasing – ensuring transparency, sustainability, and efficiency.
- Visitor management: Coordinate access and meeting spaces to provide a great in‑office experience.
- Local connector: Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and People teams to support expenses, payroll documentation, travel bookings, and office budget forecasting.
Requirements
- Experienced in People operations, office & facilities, or operations management (3+ years preferred).
- Skilled in budget management, vendor coordination, and process improvement.
- Familiar with Health & Safety and compliance practices.
- Confident communicator, fluent in English and Portuguese.
- Tech‑comfortable and proactive about IT coordination.
- Known for organization, empathy, and a “get it done” attitude.
