We are seeking a Interoperability Engineer professional willing to accept new challenges in our Closer team in a full remote role

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain advanced healthcare interoperability solutions using standards such as HL7 and FHIR.
• Develop and manage integrations with key Portuguese national health systems, including SPMS platforms such as SONHO (Hospital Information System), SClínico (Primary Care), RNU (National Patient Registry), and the Professional Portal.
• Build integration pipelines using Apache Camel, Mirth Connect, and custom APIs (Java/Python).
• Implement and manage
  - time data streaming with Kafka.
• Establish and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines and manage data storage solutions like AWS S3.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex interoperability issues, ensuring the highest levels of security, reliability, and data integrity.
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to define requirements and deliver
  -
  - class integration solutions.

Technical Profile (Requirements)

• Proven experience in healthcare interoperability and a deep understanding of standards like HL7 v2/v3 and FHIR.
• Strong proficiency in Java and the Spring Boot framework.
• Hands-on experience with integration tools such as Apache Camel and Mirth Connect.
• Solid experience with Kafka for
  - driven architecture and
  - time data processing.
• Expertise in designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience with SQL and No
  SQL databases.
• Proficiency in writing automated tests using JUnit and Mockito.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e. g. , Jenkins, Git
  Lab CI, Git
  Hub Actions).

Highly Valued Skills:

• Cloud platform experience (AWS - preferred, Azure, or GCP).
• Containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Monitoring and observability tools (ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana).
