- source development with Launchpad, a critical platform used by influential
- source projects including Ubuntu. You will lead a team, foster technical excellence, and influence strategic direction.
As an engineering manager at Canonical, you will be a servant leader, enabling your team to excel. Your role includes mentoring engineers, shaping technical strategy, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions for
- source communities. You will work remotely within the EMEA region, with occasional international travel (up to 6 weeks/year).
Responsibilities include:
- Growing and leading a
- performing engineering team. - Mentoring and developing engineers for career growth.
- Applying engineering principles to solve complex challenges.
- Building relationships with stakeholders and driving alignment.
- Leading the development of Launchpad infrastructure.
- Promoting agile practices and fostering an inclusive, innovative work environment.
- Collaborating with leadership to shape engineering strategies.
Requirements:
- Experience managing distributed teams delivering scalable, reliable software.
- Passion for mentoring and developing engineers.
- Deep technical expertise and innovative mindset.
- Proven track record in building
- quality, scalable software systems. - Experience with distributed systems and
- critical applications. - Effective communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
- Experience with agile methodologies and
