We are hiring a Web Engineering Manager to work collaboratively across teams including product managers and engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and
- friendly experiences for Canonical products.

As an Engineering Manager, your primary responsibility is to support your team: fostering growth, ensuring valuable work, and maintaining a positive environment. You should have a strong background in web development and leadership to challenge and grow your team members. You will influence culture, facilitate technical delivery, and work on strategy and execution.

Location: This role is remote within the EMEA region.

The role entails:

1. Demonstrating sound engineering principles by contributing directly to team goals.
2. Estimating work, setting goals, and achieving them.
3. Designing and implementing
   - tested, documented software in Web technologies or Flutter.
4. Debugging and fixing user issues.
5. Participating in engineering reviews and collaborating on technical specifications.
6. Contributing to technical documentation and seeking improvements in engineering and operations practices.
7. Deploying and operating
   - developed services.
8. Contributing to product success through technical advocacy.

What we are looking for:

4. Degree in Computer Science or STEM, or equivalent experience.

7. Professional interaction with colleagues, partners, and community.
8. Experience designing
   - quality web technologies.
9. Experience with Typescript, React, or Flutter.
10. Focus on accessibility and performance.
11. Proficiency in English.
12. Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred).
13. Interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, accountability.
14. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
15. Result-oriented with a personal drive to meet commitments.
16. Willingness to travel twice a year for company events.

Nice-to-have skills:

1. Experience with container technologies like LXD, Docker, Kubernetes.
2. Experience in building and maintaining teams.
3. REST API design and governance.
4. Performance engineering and security expertise.
