Role and responsibilities:

As Data Engineering Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading and evolving the organisation’s data platform while managing and mentoring a growing data engineering team. You will work closely with analytics, product, and engineering stakeholders to ensure
- quality, reliable, and accessible data across the business.


Key responsibilities:

  • Leading the design, delivery, and evolution of data platforms, pipelines, and models
  • Ensuring data quality, reliability, performance, and scalability
  • Planning and prioritising data initiatives aligned with business and product goals
  • Providing technical leadership, architectural guidance, and code/design reviews
  • Coaching and supporting data engineers, fostering strong engineering standards


Job requirements:

  • 8+ years’ experience working with complex data systems
  • 3+ years’ experience leading or managing data engineering teams
  • Strong software engineering background (Python, Java, or Scala)
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases
  • Strong understanding of data modelling, ETL processes, and data warehousing
  • Experience working with
    - scale data platforms
  • Solid understanding of data quality, governance, and best practices
  • Strong communication skills and experience working with
    - functional teams
  • Recent experience working at
    - focussed,
    - first companies.
