We are looking for a
- qualified English teacher (bilingual stream) for our Junior School, starting in August 2025.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver Engaging Instruction: Teach English language and literacy skills aligned with bilingual learning goals, fostering proficiency in English and Portuguese.
• Curriculum Planning: Design and deliver differentiated lessons following local and international curricula, catering to diverse learning needs in grades 1-5.
• Foster Language Development: Implement strategies to enhance vocabulary acquisition, reading comprehension, and communication skills in both languages.
• Student-Centered Learning: Create an interactive environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and critical thinking.
• Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and disciplined classroom atmosphere, promoting respectful behavior and organization.
• Assessment & Monitoring: Use formative and summative assessments to track progress, regularly updating students and parents on performance.
• Cultural Integration: Incorporate elements of students' cultures into lessons, promoting language skills alongside cultural appreciation.
• Parent Communication: Provide updates on student progress and collaborate with parents to address language development concerns.

• Bilingual Proficiency: Fluent in both English and Portuguese, with a strong command of English for teaching.
• Relevant Qualifications: A degree in English, Linguistics, or Education, plus a recognized teaching qualification (e. g. , PGCE, QTS).
• Experience in Bilingual Education: Proven experience in teaching bilingual or
  - language classes, especially in grades 1-5.
• Curriculum Knowledge: Expertise in bilingual learning programs and international curricula, such as IB PYP.
• Classroom Management: Strong skills in maintaining a structured and inclusive classroom.
